Whatever you are making, I begin by listening. Not only to what you need, but to the atmosphere, intention and movement underneath it. From there, I compose music that belongs to your project and nowhere else.
Nothing is taken from a library or reshaped from an existing track. Every piece begins from silence and is created specifically for the people, images or purpose it is meant to serve.

How it works.
We begin with a conversation. You tell me what you are creating, what you want people to feel and where the music will be used. I listen, ask what matters and translate that into a musical direction.
We explore the idea
You share the story, images, intention and practical needs of the project.
I create the music
I compose and record in the studio, or create it live when that suits the project better.
You receive the final track
We refine what is needed and I deliver the music in the agreed format.
Before I begin, we agree on the scope, price, timeline and intended use. Most projects can be recorded on my piano tuned to 432 Hz, while standard 440 Hz is always possible when the project calls for it.
What you receive.
Every project is different, so the exact delivery is agreed in advance. Depending on the assignment, this may include:
- Original music composed specifically for your project
- Professional recording, editing, mixing and mastering
- High-quality WAV and MP3 files
- Alternative lengths or versions where needed
- Revisions within the agreed scope
- A clear licence for the intended use

I am Roger Spees, an intuitive pianist, composer and producer based in Doorn, the Netherlands. For more than twenty-five years I have created music by ear and in direct response to people, stories and spaces.
My musical language moves between piano, ambient textures, subtle electronics, voice and acoustic instruments. Sometimes the result is minimal and spacious. Sometimes it grows into a full cinematic soundscape. The form follows what the project needs.
